"Access Clinical"

Ok, so I am really trying hard to come to terms with my herpes. I found this company called Access Clinical that is looking for blood donors with HSV for research. They are trying to work on a vaccine and then maybe a cure. I want to donate to help them find at least a vaccine so hopefully others won't have to endure herpes. So what I was wondering was if any of you have heard about this company, and if you know if they are reputable or not.

I am a very paranoid person, and always think internet stuff are scams of some sort. (pathetic, I know). I still want to help though.
Thanks in advance.

How did you hear about them? Do you have a website link?

I called, and they seem like they are a legitimate company, just looking for another opinion. Sorry I am quite dumb, and a bit naive.

Thank you so much

I'm sure you're not dumb.

They seem to be offering a large amount of money for the donation. That makes me leary. If you pursue this be sure you have complete information about your obligations and how they'll treat your blood. Are they conducting the research? Are they selling the blood to researchers? These are just questions that come to my mind.

Also there was no mention of herpes specifically on the website. Did they confirm for you that it will definitely go to herpes research?

And it looks like diagnosis has to have occurred within the past 2-3 weeks.

Just some things to think about.

Wow, I really am dumb, or can't read. I didn't see the money offer, and went back to look again, and still can't see it. I clicked on the part asking your condition, and chose virus, that's where I found that part. As for the herpes, I assumed it fell under virus, and when I spoke to the lady who called me she said they were calling because I stated I have hsv2. I told her I had just found out a little over a week ago. Which was trues when we first spoke.

Now however, I look and see they need verification of my ss#. That seems a little bit strange. Guess I will call them back and find out more information.

Thanks, I knew that I could get wise help here. I really appreciate it. I will continue investigating, and your q's to ask are great. I'll keep an update on my findings.

Ok, I read the page one more time, and I do see the payment thing, and I also now see that there is no selection under the viruses for hsv. I may re-think this one. Thanks again

Their webiste seems a little mysterious. I found the most useful info in the How to Qualify section - at the bottom there's a Donor Q&A.
