"Educate your doctors"|
I created this Fact Sheets:
1) For Doctors diagnosing HSV/HPV patients
2) For patients being diagnosed with HSV/HPV
These sheets seem pretty common sense to us, but you would be surprised how many people I have come across who totally were oblivious. I have done presentations to the local Sexual Health Professionals group here in Charlotte (Counselors, nurses, doctors interested in continuing ed for sex related issues) and the Mecklenburg County Health Department. Both had a really great response!
It is amazing how much more the H community knows about H than many doctors, counselors, nurses, etc. And event then, the medical community is often desensitized to H diagnoses because they are so common and less serious than other conditions they see everyday. I am sure you have heard horror diagnoses stories. An H diagnoses can be extremely traumatic. Well, this is a way you can help someone newly diagnosed in the future have a better experience with the medical community.
