Hey, I just wanted to introduce myself and tell my story. I was diagnosed with genital HSV1 when I was 17 from a man 10 years older then me. He knew he had it and didn't tell me. I am 23 now and have had a couple relationships since becoming infected. Never once have I passed it to anyone (thank god). Recently, my last relationship ended so I'm back in the dating scene, I don't have very high hopes and I am super nervous to have "the talk" with anyone new. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the world with an STD, this website is a huge eye opener to me and its great that there is such a big community and with so much support.

So yeah, excited to have people in the same situation to talk to.

You are not alone. If you include people with HSV 1 orally, by the time we are adults, people with herpes probably outnumber those who do not have it in some form.

Let us know how we can help.
