"FAMVIR-- HELP PLEASE"

I am 35 weeks pregnant and my dr prescribed Famvir/Famciclovir.... I was told by others that they were told to take valtrex. I looked up famvir online and the information I found said it has not yet been tested in pregnant women.. only on animals??? has anyone else taken this while pregnant? Im worried, started taking it two days ago and am wondering if I should stop, and ask them to prescribe something else.
Please comment/respond, any info will help

Thank you so much

we don't recommend famvir for pregnancy even though we don't have any research telling us it's not safe. they've yet to do any research with famvir and pregnancy to know if it's safe and effective hence why we stick to the tried and true.

you should be taking either acyclovir 400mg 3x/day or valtrex 500mg 2x/day . you need to take the higher doses for pregnancy.

yep that's the right dose

make sure you stop back after the baby is born to let us know that you are holding that perfectly healthy baby in your arms so others can follow your story too
