"Transmission to six and a half month old?"

Hi, Im so sorry to bother everyone...My daughter has had a diaper rash for about 10 days. IT started off as bright red in her outer vagina area and now is just irritated on inside of the vagina with white discharge. She has been scratching at it for about five days. A couple days ago, the doctor diagnosed it as yeast and gave Nystatin. Im genital HSV2. I do take her into the bed sometimes in the morning to breast feed, Im in the nude, etc. We could have brushed up against each other, possibly, though clearly nothing inappropriate happened. But Ive been so indoctrinated in the "anything could happen" attitude of hsv2 that I'm so paranoid. And I am so upset and worried now. I asked the doctor and she said not to worry about it, but I am worried. My question: if the baby has some maternal antibodies up to 6 months, if she did contract this from me -- even theoretically, just to put my mind to rest -- wouldn't she be having a primary outbreak? That's definitely not this but as those of you with kids know the diaper rash can look like a recurrent. Please help...

The first step in stopping the perceived stigma about genital herpes - is to stop believing in it yourself
