"Recurrence of warts?"

I had a genital wart two years ago which went away after about a month after having it frozen/ using whatever cream it was they gave me, and haven't had any symptoms since so I assumed that the infection had been cleared.

I've just noticed a teeny, tiny bump near where the wart had been. Is it possible/ likely that I'm getting a wart again, 2 years later? Or is it possible to have gotten reinfected? That would be just my luck. It might be nothing, of course, but I was just wondering about the recurrence of genital warts because I can't seem to find much about it.

   Hey Cecile,

A small percentage of people do experience recurrences - and of those people it is very difficult to determine whether it is the initial infection resurfacing or if they have in fact been re-infected.

Lots of folks become more aware of their genitals post infection and become more likely to find concern with all the normal bits and bumps down there. If it is teeny tiny it might be nothing more than an inflamed hair follicle. Certainly worth keeping an eye on!

from what i researched, genital warts could recur because the HPV virus causing it is not curable. but may i ask what cream did you use? is it oxyfend zerowarts? i'm about to try it.
