someone explain a few things. first i do not have HPV, just wanting to learn about it so here my question
1What is HPV?
2. Can HPV be cured and how? Or is it like herpies where it lays dormat for a while then pops it ugly head?
3. Ok the cancer society says cirvical cancer is caused by HPV virus so would that mean cirvical cancer is a std?
4. if a male has sex with someone with cirvical cancer can he catch HPV virus?

Right now, nobody knows for sure if the virus stays in your body or not. There are countless discussions about that on this forum. Search for the word "clearance".

When it gets to the point of having cervical cancer, the virus is not in a productive phase, meaning that it does not produce more viruses, so the chance of transmission is lower than it was earlier in the infection. Studies that look at the types of hpv found in men whose partners have cervical cancer find that very often, the men don't have the same type as their partner.
