"Rash type breakout pain - Help"
I was diagnosed with HSV-2 (using swab and blood test) in January 2010 and was put on Acyclovir 400mg twice a day (3x a day OB). It was a vaginal OB and lasted about 10 days - 1 leision. I have not had a confirmed BO since. Had some pain in the butt area that felt like I was sitting on marbles but no sores of any kind - until last night. Couldn't sleep the night before and was restless at work. After my evening shower I noticed read bumps around my underwear area, hips, butt and upper leg - just below the butt. They were itching and hurt - felt bruised. At first thought they were due to working out like zits or allergic reation. But one kept hurting. I ended up puting Cortozone10 on it to relieve the discomfort and was able to sleep. I took my acyclovir this morning and will up my dose to 3 times aday. Does this sound like another OB. One of the bumps now has a head on it. Some are going away and never did anything. I know that HSV can come out anywhere in the boxer area. I thought I read where it is more like acluster of blisters, but not sure. The discomfort of the one bump is bad and not sure what I take to ease it. I read on here and it said that the cortozone was not good. Any other ideas. I don't have access to a tub, just a stand up shower.

Thanks very much,

Yes, HSV can break out in a widespread rash, with or without blistering. I've had it happen to me twice in the 33 years that I've had this virus.
