"Please help Scared"

I was exposed May 2 to GSV2 and two days after exposure got a lesson. for the past 50 days my body has been burning all over. My clothes hurt on my skin, the sun makes it worse, at night I can't sleep. My feet and hands tingle and are very dry. My Primary care Dr. says herpes 2 does not have these symptoms. I have read so much on PHN and know thats what it is. I am 40 yrs old male and was in perfect health before this with very little back pain. This is killing me. Before I take my medical journey does anyone have some recommendation on what I should start doing. Should I first try anti viral, try to ride it out etc. Thank you for your feed back..

Thank you

Sorry no one has responded. You would have better luck posting under Support. Anyway, was your lesion swabbed and tested for herpes? Without a swab or blood test, you can't be sure if it is herpes and blood tests aren't accurate until 12-16 weeks after exposure. Did your doctor give you an anti-viral to take and did it help? The first outbreak is usually the worst and varies from person to person. There are a lot of people out there who have herpes and don't even have a clue. Did you read Terri Warren's booklet? You can access it from the Home page. Hopefully someone else will chime in here and answer your questions. Anyway herpes is not that big a deal in the long run. I've had it over about 40 years and have lived a very normal life. Good luck to you.
