as determined by HerpeSelect IgG testing. We've been together since 1999. So far, so good.

I don't think I've transmitted my HSV-II (presumably genital, but I'm asymptomatic) to anyone.

I found out in Aug. 2006 that I was positive. At that time 2 current partners tested negative. Based on that I know that I had been infected anywhere between about 5 and 17 years at that time, and no one has ever come to me suggesting that they had gotten Herpes from me.

I have not gone back to ask previous partners with the exception of one guy who is still a friend. He has been too chicken to get himself tested (and even if he were positive, we wouldn't know if I gave it to him or vice versa or if we both just got it independently).

Oh, and D. is one of those 2 guys who tested negative in 2006, and we are still involved and he shows no sign of having acquired HSV, but he has not been tested again.

C.

I voted red. Everyone here knows my story ad nauseam. That said, I've had herpes before I transmitted it for years probably and as far as I know I haven't trasmitted it to anyone else. I transmitted it when I had an outbreak but didn't realize it was herpes b/c was completely asymptomatic prior to that outbreak.

When I first got diagnosed with HSV2, I was involved with someone (not the person who gave it to me)for about three months and during that time we never used condoms. After I was diagnosed, we continued our relationship but always used condoms. He never got it. I've been involved with two men since then, we always used condoms, and neither has showed any symptoms although neither has been tested for it. One of those is my current partner... so far, so good!

I also take Valtrex daily. Might as well do everything I can to better the odds!

I transmitted my hsv2 twice that I"m aware of. The first time was before I even knew I had genital herpes. The 2nd time was soon afterwards. I haven't transmitted it to anyone that I"m aware of in the last 21 years.

I'm on suppressive therapy more than I'm not.

The first step in stopping the perceived stigma about genital herpes - is to stop believing in it yourself

Now that I know I have HSV2, I think I probably did give it to my former partner - but didn't know I had it until a couple of years after we stopped having sex, so neither of us will ever know for sure. But before he had sex with me, he never got jock itch - then he started getting it. I had yeast infections that stopped responding to yeast medication...It's only speculation that both problems were actually herpes, but it does seem likely. He doesn't bear a grudge, has been very supportive since I got my blood test result.
