I didn't make this quantitative (as in 1-3 times, 4-6 times) because I know I couldn't possibly count how many times I had it.

I voted about the same but then I realized that I probably shouldn't have voted b/c I was thinking more along the lines of before and after I found out I had herpes. I've had BV twice since I found out I had herpes and twice before I found out (but I probably already had herpes by then).

Either way, herpes hasn't caused me to have BVs more than normal (three out of four times there was a good reason for them such as having sex in a hot tub or treating a yeast infection) so my vote seems pretty accurate.

I have had it a couple of times prior to being diagnosed with ghsv1. Its been a year now since my diagnosis and i'd say that i've had bv so much this year, that I just may buy stock in the compnay that makes metronidazole.
As Angelika points out I'm not sure exactly how long I've had hsv for so I could have had the previous bv infections while having hsv.

Technically I'd have to go with the first choice but I feel that would be misleading so I didn't vote at all.

I got hsv2 when I was 19. I had had some yeast infections from hell around the same time from using oral antibiotics for acne. I never had bv until I was in my mid 30's and then I couldn't keep the friggin thing cleared for years. Went 3 years I think with bv just once or twice and now I"m having it every other month again. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't have a thing to do with my herpes.

I'm not voting since I have no idea when I was infected.

I was about 27 or 28 when I got my first yeast infection. It seemed directly related (and I mean within a half hour) to using a spermacidal insert. I got a few yeast infections close together, then over the next few years I got a couple a year, then it settled down and I didn't have one for probably 5 years or so.

I only got BV after *knowing* I had HSV-II, but that was at least 6 years of having Herpes at that point. Treating the BV seemed to cause yeast and then I ended up with yeast, BV, and Strep B, then it all got properly treated and stopped.

I don't think my yeast or BV infections have been related to my Herpes.

C.

I edited this to add yeast.

Should have thought of that before.

Has anyone ever created a perfect poll?

I've never had BV or at least I've never been symptomatic. I have had yeast infections, but not in years and years. Since I've had herpes for so much longer than I haven't had herpes I'm not sure what "normal" is. Also, my outbreaks are on my butt which shouldn't be messing with my vaginal Ph.

I voted yellow. I'm not sure where my yeast infections went. I had them way more before H and on valtrex. BV - most doctors don't diagnosis this. It's been diagnosed a few times in my life.

When I was valtrex I had yeast much more often since switching to Famvir it stopped.
Now I know you girls don't believe that valtrex causes yeast but in "my family" another person has commented that the valtrex also gives her yeast - I switched her to Famvir. No problem.

Most doctors don't diagnose it? Really? I've always had docs that diagnose it, or at least test for it.

I'm sorry your experiences are different.

Not in my experience I've had to ask. They don't seem concerned with BV.

That is pitiful. Just pitiful.

Its the most common vaginal infection in women of childbearing age in the US, and its PITIFUL that doctors are not testing for it.

I do not remember my age or the year that I found out that I have GHSVII but it was some 20 plus years ago. Around that time I was working in more of a professional field where I wore panty hose and high heels daily. I experienced many yeast infections back then but I also had HSV OBs so I do not now if the two are related. I now wear cotton underpants and I do not wear panty hose daily or even weekly and I cannot remember when I had something other than an HSV OB going on.

Now my HSVII OBs are not that frequent or that severe and I just cannot remember when I last had another type of female infection, so I did not vote.
