"Western blot test"
I'm 56 year old female, married 30 years. Spouse had affair about 8 months ago. About 4 months after his affair, he developed a rash of some kind on his penis. Of course he put off going to a dr thinking it was nothing, so I happened to mention it to my dr at a checkup. Dr advised me to get checked for herpes and I tested positive for herpes 2. I never had any outbreak that I knew of, so I was mystified. Husband then goes to dr and his test comes back negative. After a lot of reading on the tests, I decided to have the western blot test done. I read about it in this forum. Got my result back today: negative. Moral of the story: if you've never had an outbreak, go get retested, preferably with the western blot test. Google it or search this website for the instructions. Most Dr's won't know what you're talking about. Be proactive about your health and good luck

That's what we're here for and it's nice to get some feedback that we're doing some good out there.
