"liposuction w/ genital herpes"

I've scoured the internet as well as all the Racoon archives, and can't find out anything about the effects of a genital herpes infection on liposuction/liposculpture success. Does anyone know anyone who had genital herpes and then had a liposuction/sculpture procedure done on their hips/thighs area?

I'm wondering if the herpes could cause any complications. Not only would liposuction aggravate the area, but then you have to wear a very tight girdle for 3 to 12 weeks after the procedure to keep the swelling down, and it has to have a removable crotch because you're not supposed to take it off even for peeing.

   I_amso,

I found out I was HSV-2 + in September 2002. My husband is also HSV-2 +.

On 11-22-02, I had Tumscent Liposuction to my inner thighs, hips, flanks. On 12-2-02 he had Tumscent Liposuction to his abdomen and flanks.

I can't answer if it can cause any complications. But, I assume that our Plastic Surgeon would have told us if there were any risks involved.

I can say that neither of us had any complications. We both wore the compression garment for 8 weeks (We even had to shower in it for the first few days). Once we received our additional compression garment, we were able to remove it to shower then right back in it.

If you want any additional information, let me know, I will be happy to share.

Angie

Wow, thanks for responding! I didn't know if there'd be anyone here w/ that experience or not.

I do have one question, regarding the areas that had fat taken from them: Did you ever get a breakout in any of those places prior to the liposuction?

I'm asking because I've noticed in the last half-year that I'm getting pimple-things on my inner thighs and outer thighs from time to time. This is a new thing, and I have no idea if it's herpes-related or not. However, I do know it's happening right on areas that I eventually want to get liposuction on. So I just wondered if liposuction performed on areas whose nerve pathways have had herpes on them would cause difficulties.

I was fairly new to H when I had my Liposuction.
I had only had a couple of breakouts at the time.
But, one of the breakouts was in my inner thigh area that was Lipo'ed.
I have had several breakouts since then, but none in my inner thigh area.

How did your lipo turn out, Angie? Are you happy with the results? Were you in a lot of pain afterwards?

   Hey Amanda,

Yes, I am very happy with the results.

I had a tummy tuck and breast aug 5 mths before I had the lipo. I had a few fat pouches that bothered me. The reason I had the lipo was to "tweak" those areas.

It is hard for me to say about the pain. Compared to the tt and ba, there was only discomfort with lipo. My inner thighs gave me the biggest problem. They felt like I was being flipped with a rubber band when I walked for about a month.

Regular exercise and healthy eating can help most people achieve a desirable figure. However, for some losing weight can turn into an unceasing struggle against stubborn pockets of fat that no amount of exercise or diet can eliminate. This is where liposuction, or fat removal surgery, comes in.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that helps people remove stubborn pockets of fat and remodel specific areas of the body. It’s an amazing procedure designed singularly to remove fat instantly.
