"anyone know anything about perimenopause + HSV?"

I've only just come up with this question in my head after noticing a few things ...

- my periods are longer (like 10 days, light-heavy-light)
- my moods swings are more intense
- ob's are more often
- bleeding between periods (!)
- bleeding after sex

I never even heard of perimenopause before searching online today. Any one else have these symptoms? Any help/thoughts/advice would be most appreciated!

I'm on bcp so I'm not sure if they may be masking any peri symptoms I might be having. However, the change in ob frequency could be the result of changes in your hormone levels.

Are you on suppressive therapy?

Anyone who has sex is at
risk for herpes.

Paragraphs are a wonderful
thing.

I went through menopause before I started taking acyclovir. The bleeding changes sound about normal for the change of life. I don't remember OB's being any worse. Of course, perimenopause is different for everybody. I did get a lot of hot flashes and it was the first time in my life I was warm! Now I miss them and it's been a cold winter for me--lol!! The bleeding after sex is probably because you are drier and need to use some lube. Have you reported this to your doctor? It should be checked out if you haven't had a recent pap smear. It's so much fun to be a woman!!
