"Deer Hunting"

Got my first deer Friday evening. It was a doe. Even learned how to track and follow a blood trail. Yesterday we butchered as bf got a doe too. So that's one deer that won't be eating out of my garden next year!! Had snow yesterday and cold weather. Winter is here early this year.

Well Grace when you are driving I hope you are drinking water or coffee!! The wine is for after the trip when you are safely home. Cold here today and I should be sitting in the tree stand. Hope I'll have the guts to suit up and get out this afternoon. Bf's friend got two deer yesterday so we butcher again tomorrow. Anyway be careful out in the snow and cold. The one thing I absolutely love about retirement is that I don't have to leave the house if the weather is bad. I have bad memories of driving to work in white-outs and on icy roads. Now I have a stack of books available to read, Scrabble on the computer and stuff to do around the house.

Too cold for me yesterday. Bf went out and saw two yearlings and a doe, but didn't take a shot. Getting ready to butcher two deer today that Bf's friend got on Thursday. Just a very cold weekend here. Will wait to hunt next season after Christmas.
