"Uh...it's been six years"

I haven't been on here in six years. I was talking to someone the other day about this site. Wanted to say hi. I'm not in Texas anymore, and have been living in Columbus Ohio now for almost five years. I'm actually in a really great Facebook herpes group and have been making a lot of friends, etc. just thought I'd say hi, and see who was still around.
Its been Dallas to Cleveland, following a crazy girl to Chicago, then breaking up with crazy girl, then back to Cleveland, then back to Columbus. Still hopelessly single, still have my crazy pug Duncan, the same car from the secret photo page, and still remember a lot of my crazy posts, etc. this page was really my first life line, and I remember it fondly. I have forgotten about all the wonderful folks I had met, or might need part of my memory woken up. I hope everyone is having a good Fall, and or Winter vortex.

Thanks very much for stopping by. It's good to hear from you. I'm a little puzzled about how a FB herpes group works since it discourages being anonymous and a lot of folks are touchy about identifying as having herpes.

I'm having a good Fall. Semi-retired now, but working two part-time jobs so it still feels pretty much like full-time.

Rajah-

Good hearing from you. The Facebook group itself is private. Therefore, no one knows you are in the group, except those in the group.

Some people use fake profiles just for the group so they can keep their real life, and group life separate. However, it's a social group so we all have pictures of our selves, have regional events, or local events and meet up and make friends, etc. the halloween event in Columbus had over a hundred people from the area. There are big groups that I know of in Ohio, Michigan, Pa, Kentucky, Etc. Some other events get hundreds of people in attendance. It's more social than help me I have herpes.

I think most people get recruited, as I did from dating web sites. It's been a life savor, and I've met some good friends as a part of it. The social aspect is great, but it does lack the message board variety that this site has, or the privacy so to speak when asking questions or seeking advice, etc. I wish there was a better combination of the two to be honest. I was lost as most people might be when first diagnosed. This group here gave me an outlet, an answer, and more confidence in my situation.
