"Deer"

Well first season shot gun ended yesterday here in Illinois and I didn't see anything to shoot at. Of course the week before I saw four deer that I could have shot from the deck of the house!! Bf did get a nice heavy bodied nine point buck from his ground blind. He had set up a buck decoy and the nine point buck wanted to fight him--oh that male testosterone. Anyway we had to track him in the dark with flashlights along the creek, but did find him. Had to call bf's buddies to help drag the beast to the truck. Yesterday we butchered the beast and one that his buddy got. Dec. 4-7th I will be back out and hope to get one and then we will have enough meat for next year.
50 degrees out yesterday and today we have blowing snow and could get 5 inches!!!

snowing here today and I have to drive 90 minutes to get the kids from the megabus and back home

deer season starts monday here. I won't see a deer for the next 2 weeks - I swear they know!! You are welcome to come and hang out in the back field with the neighbors to wait for one

I saw a doe and two almost grown fawns tuesday, suburban area with way too many houses for too much area around for them to have any worries.

This summer we had a doe and her twins in the yard all the time and bf got some nice photos. Don't think I could shoot any of them. Nice sunny day out and I hope this warmer weather continues into next weekend when I'll be sitting up in that tree stand.

In most of PA, first day of deer season is an official day off of school. Was hard to adjust to the kids not having it off when they went off to college...lol Not that we hunt, but because you just get used to them being off!

we used to have "deer" lonely heart shopping day here but now it's all cyber monday.
