"where are we now?"

OK I thought I'd start an update post going so everyone can check in!! (Really though I just wanted to share some good news about myself with everyone...he he he)

I am almost done working on my BSN!! I will graduate the end of June finally. The end is almost here and I am so excited! It's been a very long 3 1/2 years of working on this and having no life.

My nest is officially empty! They are never coming back except to visit. I thought it would be horrible but really it's better than I thought it would be. I've adjusted over the last few years of kids coming and going with undergrad studies. I wish they lived closer but it is what it is.

I also started dating someone finally a few months ago!! He and I are very happy together. We are looking to relocate to the Pittsburgh area so if anyone needs an experienced pediatric nurse, let me know!! Job hunting for me isn't as easy as you would think it would be but I am continuing to apply for jobs every week. Hopefully I soon find one so we can make our move and start our life together It only took me 6 years to decide to date again but it didn't take long to find a terrific man once I got started!

It sounds like things are coming together nicely on multiple fronts for you. The empty nest thing has it's positive aspects. We are fortunate that most of our immediate family lives quite close, within 5 miles and the rest are within about 3.5 hours drive.

Light at the end of the educational tunnel! That is very good news, too.

Pittsburgh.... We have a granddaughter who lives there and thinks it's a very nice city. She is an operations manager for a store there.

Very little has changed with our situation. I still work at my Engineering job 3 days a week and have plenty of other things on my plate including working with 12 regional hospitals with regard to ham radio emergency communications and also now have a seat at the state emergency operation center in that capacity. I finished two terms as president of the local ham radio club. I also am now on the city historical sites commission to fill in my "spare time".

Vicky is well and keeping busy, too. We have 5 grandchildren who are graduating from high school this Spring! Yikes!

Well I'm back on here after a huge change in my life. At the end of Oct my bf kicked me to the curb after committing a crime against me. But I have moved into a wonderful duplex in town and love living alone. I have also become politically active and that's all I'll say about that! So I've been enjoying life, going to concerts, hiking, walking around my new neighborhood (and picking up the trash as I go). Raj I just might drive down to Springfield to see you sometime! Are you still working?

Grace I know you will succeed with the new chapter in your life.

Happy May Day!!

I thought you were set and comfortable. So sorry you had a bad experience like that. It sounds like you have rebounded and are in a comfortable place now.

Yes, I still work, but only 3 days a week so plan on coming down when it's convenient with you. Thursdays through Sunday are workable as my usual work days are M-W. Vicky and I are involved in multiple organizations and keep busy, but I'm sure we can show you some of the sights. For example, tomorrow we are judging some school kids, 6-12, history research papers in a competition. Give us a little notice and we can be flexible.

You know how to email me.

Good, bad and good updates. Great to move and get a new job. Great to work part time. Great to rebound so positively after a break-up. Deb, I thought he was the one as it sounded like he made you happy for a while. Glad you all have positive things going on. I am still with the man I was to engaged to when I went to work for the post office. He moved on, married, had a child and after 25 years, lost his wife to cancer. We have been back together for over 2 years now and engaged for over a year. I am waiting to pay off my house before I move down to the Nags Head area where he lives. The post office put a hold on plant consolidations for a while and I am getting so close to retirement and having my house paid off that consolidating the plant where I work does not bother me as much as it used to.

I am still a beach girl and cannot wait for summer to get here.

Glad everyone is doing well.

that things are coming together for you and that your job is less of an issue. It's about time.

Raven I am having the best time of my life and am very active with line dancing, zumba class, hiking, politics etc. I got my new place fixed up and all is done now since the new driveway was finished. I've met a terrific guy who is intelligent (a retired dean of a community college), fun, generous, active. We enjoy spending time together and neither one of us wants to ever get married again etc., but like companionship and spending time together. Sounds like you are doing well and glad all is working out for you too. Too much rain and bad weather here lately, but sun is shining now and I must get home and mow the lawn.
