"My story (the good kind :))"|

Good news first--I'm 25 and planning on popping the question to a negative partner! I have not experienced an ob in 11 months and I feel better than ever!! I believe I contracted herpes when I was 21 but I'm not sure. I just know I was 21 when I found out I had it. The only indication I had was an actual outbreak. I was stressing out over final exams and developed a very painful sore on my penis. I got it checked out for free at the health center and the result came back positive. I don't mean to paint greek life in a stereotypical light, but I was promiscuous and wasn't exactly slinging around condoms liberally. There was nobody to blame but myself. Without insurance, the best I could do was keep visiting the health center. The therapists were a great resource but the nurses and physicians could only do so much. Besides telling me to keep a good diet, stress down, and activity level up, they did not help out much. I discovered xxxxxxxxxxxx by chance, on a forum like these, and had a little extra change in my pocket to try it out. When you're young and have no social life and can't drink anymore, saving money is suprisingly easier to do. Although it's a natural mineral treatment, the side effects may have been worse than the outbreaks! The acne was the worse, but with time all of the side effects vanished. I had one major ob at the end and that was it. I had "the talk" right from the outset of a relationship I entered into a month after ending treatment. I figured it was the best way to go about things. She took it surprisingly well--so well that things have been going great the past 10 months and if she can accept me for who I am, and not what I have, I'm ready to ask her to take the next step!
