I am wondering what you want to talk to you mother about. Since you are on a HSV site, I gather it is that you have HSV. If you have Oral or genital HSV I or II, you do not have to share this with anyone other than a health professional or someone that you will be intimate with. A doctor should be a professional and you can tell him/her whatever health issues that you have with out judgement. I have only shared this very person getting this virus some 20 + + + years ago. We like to call this having a discussion rather than the talk. This discussion with someone that you are going to be intimate with should be different than the type of conversation/discussion you would be having with your mother concerning HSV. I am very close with my mother but I have yet to tell her about my HSV status. The best thing to do is to have your facts and the best place to get those facts is on this site. Please read through the posts and you can ask any questions about HSV here.
