"False negative"

Hello. New to all this : /
Here's my question, I had a blood test for STDs, herpes being one of them, in January. I tested negative.
Now 8 months later I have a full outbreak on my nose and face.
Is it possiable that I tested negative, but I really has it in January? Are the blood tests sometimes not accurate?
PS: The itching is annnnnnoooyyying! 😬🤓😫

There are a number of reasons why a negative is not to be trusted, one of which is that it can take weeks for the antibodies to develop after one is infected. On the other hand, positive results are definitely to be trusted.
