"Antiviral and other MEDS"

Has there been any studies when mixing Antiviral with other meds and the side affects.

Like diet piles or things that have methamphetamine in them? I know the only person you can truly ask is your doc but wanted to see if anyone had an answer.

They've been around for a very long time and rarely have noticeable side effects. One reason is that the antiviral drugs we recommend here, acyclovir, valtrex and famvir are very specific in targeting a chemical reaction that is peculiar to herpes family replication. In other words, it stops the virus from making new copies of itself. This doesn't affect other chemical reactions in our bodies, thus it is very safe.... except to the herpes virus.

I hope that helps. Let us know if you have further questions.

Hello Rajah thanks for responding. I guess what I'm asking and since I only take Acyclovir which has worked wonders for me, but if I take other over the counter med drugs and I happen to take an Acycolvir pil,l will there be an adverse reaction to what the Acycolvir pill is suppose to help w/ suppressing the virus?

3. "Drug interactions.."
In response to message #2

Sorry for the slow response...

I'm not aware of drug interactions between acyclovir and other prescriptions or OTC drugs. The antivirals are very safe drugs.
